Gender and Development for Cambodia (GADC)
Advocates for gender equity and the empowerment of women through training, information-sharing and network building. GADC has trainers that are able to deliver training on CEDAW and the MDGs.
Cambodian Men’s Network
Coordinated by GADC, the network mobilizes Cambodian men to work for the prevention of violence against women.
Peace and Development Institute
Advocates for promoting and protecting human rights, rule of law, good governance; focuses on the right to food and sustainable livelihood systems.
SILAKA
Focuses on building capacity of local public, private and government institutions through education and training to advance development and human security. SILAKA has produced training material on CEDAW and the MDGS for use in workshops for government agencies and NGOs.
Cambodian League for the Promotion and Defense of Human Rights (LICADHO)
Advocates for respect and protection of human rights in Cambodia. Chairs the CAMBOW coalition and has led a review examining whether laws related to violence against women contain discriminatory provisions that ultimately contravene CEDAW principles.
Cambodian Women’s Crisis Centre (CWCC)
Provides assistance to women and children who are victims of domestic violence, sexual abuse and human trafficking.
Women’s Media Centre of Cambodia
Delivers innovative, national awareness and informative programs on issues affecting contemporary Cambodia, with a special focus on the roles and rights of Cambodian women.
Cambodia Project Against Domestic Violence (PADV)
Focused on the prevention and elimination of domestic violence through education, public awareness and capacity-building.
Committee for Free and Fair Elections in Cambodia (COMFREL)
Committee to Promote Women in Politics (CPWP)
A coalition of 7 NGOs, with SILAKA is its secretariat. Advocates for women’s participation in politics; provides training and capacity-building for women’s candidates; conducts voter-awareness programmes. Conducted a wide-ranging advocacy campaign using CEDAW as a framework during the 2007 commune elections in Cambodia. |
